As a technical author she started writing user guides to document software products, first for the company FICS (Financial Information Consulting Services, now S1), then for the technical communication company write! nv/sa. Most of the projects were to document banking software for worldwide financial institutions. As the evolution was to go more and more online, user guides rapidly became online help as well. Martine followed the trend, and soon became a remarkable help author. She was noticed during a RoboHELP training in London, kept in touch with prominent actors in the field, and was invited as guest speaker at the Online Help Conference Europe 2000 (Gloucester, London). As a translator, Martine really started her career when she joined the company write! nv/sa in 1997. She had the chance to translate (EN/NL>FR) what she was most familiar with: software documentation and interfaces. She also specialised in the field of finance and economy. She is the author of a bilingual electronic English-French, French-English dictionary of finance, EcoMate 2000 (www.ecolinguae.com/ecomate2000.htm). Both as a technical author and as a translator, Martine has proven her analytical skills, her structured way of thinking and writing, and a superior feeling for language (Awarded first prize in French Essay Contest organised by Rotary International (1987)). As a freelancer, she is now mostly appreciated for her quick understanding of software applications, her sense of self-organisation and ability to merge with existing teams of developers and project leaders. Among her recent references are EC/DG-Entreprise, P.G.P., IRIS and BNP-Paribas. My SoftwareTRADOS |
